    Hey all,

I purchased the Alba DVD108 two weeks ago, and have had no problems as yet. It plays vcd's, svcd's, and KVCD without a hitch. But two nights ago the LCD display on the front of the unit wasn't there when I switched the player on. The eject button doesn't work anymore, yet all the 'startup' noises happen from within the machine.

Any ideas, fixes for this problem? Is it some flaw in the Alba? Should I just take it back and ask for my money back?

Any help, or similar experiences would be helpful.

    Thanks - Frankanger

P.S. Because of the no-display, I can't even open the tray to put in a dvd. It's infuriating!!!!

    Hey all, again.

Weirdly, the display has returned. I have no ideas why, or why it has taken two days for it to return? But it's back and the dvd player is working as well as it did when I first purchased it.

Still interested in anybody who has had this similar problem with the Alba Dvd108, or any other quirks of the machine.

    Thanks again - Frankanger
