I am having a major problem editing my mindv footage. First I am capturing with Sony's Movie Shaker. I would like to use Studio 8 but they do not have support yet to capture in minidv. I am exporting in DV-AVI however I can only export 9 minutes at a time. One of my problems is that I will capture a 15-minute scene but I can only export 9 minutes. I don’t see a method of splitting the capture scene in two clips. I have been trying to use the edit functions by splitting the 15-minute scene into two 7.5 minutes clips. After I export I convent-using TEMPG as MPEG2 for SVCD. When I bring the two clips into Studio 8, I cannot seamlessly combine the two clips together. The ultimate solution would be able to split the two scenes in Movie Shaker and then export and join the two in Studio 8. Please somebody help me I am going crazy with all of these programs and formats, why don’t they have one program that does it all!!!!

I've been using the capture program included with Media Studio Pro 6.5. It automatically splits the files at a predetermined size, then I encode with TMPGenc. I currently use TMPGenc to join the resulting MPG files, but you could also load the DV-AVIs into any video editing program.
