Look to wheverer you ripped the dvd, you should have a file called vts-stream information it will show the audio tracks.

there is no file called vts-stream, i used DVD Decrypter to rip the movie if that helps.
I have read somewhere that you can get this information with smart ripper or chapter xtractor. i think it was sefy levy's DVd to VCD guide.
thanks again -
you ripped all the audio tracks, which i think is the default setting???
in dvd2avi, load the vob files....goto the audio drop-down menu and select an audio track. then, press f5. an info box will appear, giving you the video and audio details. if the audio section is blank, than there is either no audio in that track or it's DTS, and dvd2avi can't decode it. otherwise, it will display "DD" and some kind of bitrate. this indicates there's an audio track dvd2avi can decode.... go ahead and do so. just make sure to play the .wav file dvd2avi creates to make sure it's what you want.
if you don't get an audio, choose another track and repeat.
