  1. I have this cheap no name DVD-RW that neither my pc, ps2 nor my DVDplayer can read (after 3 rewrites). Now If I choose 'erase rewritable media' in nero 5.5.9.9, I get options which are:

1.Quick-erase rewritable media : Only delete references to files
2.Full-erase rewritable media : no explanations needed
3.Quick Grow last border : Formatting to expand the last border and enter
the last border area into intermediate state of
    a DVD-RW medium.
4.Quick add border: Formatting to add a new intermediate state border to
an existing border on a DVD-RW medium.
5.Quick format DVD-RW: Formatting an intermediate state border an a
    DVD-RW media

Now, does anybody knows what an intermediate state border is? What is the use of this border on a DVD? I'd like to try to save or repair my DVD-RW. Could one of these options help me?

  2. I have not tried any of these new erase options, however this link may help. It is also good for a laugh since the translation leaves alot to be desired.
