  1. What is the highest bitrate any of you have SUCCESFULLY used in TMPGENC from AVI to VCD? I know it depends on a bunch of things, yes, like the source movement on screen, player used on, etc.,but I was able to set CQ_VBR at max 3700, 'highest quality', and 'high quality (slow)' rendering, non-standard VCD.
How about the same for SVCD?

TMPGENC XVCD help from the site recommends nothing higher than 2500 bitrate including audio...when using BitrateCalc, it says that I can do a 30 min VCD at say 3700!...however I think it will freeze my player.

Has anyone used, say VCD 704X480 at super-high bitrate?

    Thanks

  2. From what I've learned so far, it's the standalone player that has to be able to handle the bitrate. You can make a VCD (XVCD) any way you want, but it's whether or not the standalone will accept it. Mine for instance won't accept above 2500kbps
