  1. What the heck happened? Now no matter what AVI I try to encode TPMG shows nothing but a black screen. This even after reinstalling. Help!

    check that you havent disabled the preview go to
    Option/Preview Option and have at least Display with Thinning ticked

    I was having the same problem. this worked for me hopefully it will help you.
    first open tmpg click on option then environmental setting then vfapi plugin next right click on avi vfw compatibility reader then left click higher priority.
    you may have to do this a couple of times to get the priority level just right.
