  1. I just switched back from WinXP to Win2K and I have encountered a problem with MPEG files playing. Both on Windows Media Player and QuickTime and all other programs, I can see the video, but there are some strange flickering vertical lines and dots all around. No idea what it can be.
I have a Geforce 2 NVIDIA video card. I'd be very glad if anyone of you could help me

    best regards,

    Search Comp PM
If this is a fresh install you need to add all the codec's back. And may need to update WMP

  3. What kind of codecs? I never installed anything except for divx codecs, but it's for AVI files. AVI work okey. I have a problem with MPEG. What kind of codecs do I need for that with Win2K? I didn't need any with WinXP nor Win98....
And it's not WMP for sure, cause the same problem appears under any of the media players..

Mpeg 1 and Mpeg 2 codec's by the sound of it. Normally Windows media player will search and update any missing mpeg 1 codec's, but you need to install Mpeg 2 yourself. Power DVD 4, will install some for you.

Also installing the wrong codec's can upset the balance, if you installed SMR (Angel potion) get rid of it. Nimo "lite" should be tried, unless you want to install them manually. Nimo full, has spywear in the codec's (DivX 5.02) KJ codec pack is better !, but no Mpeg1/2 yet
