Hi there, I'm hoping someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've followed all the instructions to convert a Divx.AVI to an MPEG-2 for a SVCD but when I try to burn it after a 12 hour render I get an error message from NERO as follows:
"The file MOVIE.mpg is invalid, need MPEG-2 which was encoded for Super Video Cd
audio:44.1 kHz MPEG - 1/2, layer 2;
stereo/dual channel/multi-channel
video 480 x 480 at 29.97 Hz or 480 x 576 at 25 Hz
The following problems were found:
- invalid video stream 29.97 frames/second, 480 x 480 pixels
You are creating a Super Video CD V1.0 compliant CD,
but the MPEG file is not suitable for such a disc."
When I do the render it says it is rendering at 480 x 480, 29.97 fps. What am I doing wrong, its killing me...
The following is information when the original file is in VirtualDub. I click on "File Info"

After 9 - 12 hours it is finnished and I get an MPEG of about 753,264
But it errors when I try to make a SVCD. I can make a VCD MPEG from this file why not an SVCD MPEG?
Please help me as I'm at the end of my rope. I've been working on this thing and am on my fourth try. I just can't figure it out. Am I missing something simple. Please help. I may even name my first born after you.

doesn't sound like ur doing anything wrong to me, except that i would choose svcd (PAL)film if you dvd player supported it otherwise svcd (NTSC)film and crop/resize it. U can use fitcd to calc the crop/resize.
If you can make an vcd from this file and not svcd i think that you should check what the last tab says in TMPGEnc. It should say super vcd mpeg 2 vbr.
One other think is that i have had so much hassle with making interlaced video that i don't bother anymore. I make all svcd noninterlaced or 3:2 pulldown, depending on what i'm encoding to.
