    At what reslution should I capture if I want to encode to vcd and svcd by using:
    1. KVCDx2-CQ-704x576-(PAL)-PLUS.mcf
    2. KVCD-CQ-352x576-(PAL)-PLUS.mcf
    3. KVCD-CQ-352x288-(PAL)-PLUS.mcf
    4. SKVCD-352x576-(PAL).mcf

    please specifiy for each case.

    and i capture at 720x576 will it give me the best quality?

    i always suggest capture at the highest resolution your system can support and reduce as nessessary .. you will get higher quality ..

    If the target resolution is 352x576, I would capture @ 704x576. I think most resising algorithms work better resising from 704->352 than from 720->352.

    general rule of thumb -- if resizing is div by 8 good , div by 16 better ...
