    I have been trying unsuccessfully to play divx and avi formats using a divx player version 1.4. Whenever I press play, the program gets an error and dies. I tried downloading from xvid.org but they have shut down. Can someone help me get this video working. Do I need to download different codecs? a different player?

    Nah I would use Divx player to play any divx, avi movie. It never works right for me. So if you have all the code required you might go with somthing else like window media player if you don't have any dvd player software but if you want the best go with PowerDvd 4.0 xp
