  1. I followed instructions (as in the All-in-one-guide) posted on this site to convert an avi to mpeg1 (for VCD).
To do this I first converted the avi (audio) to a wav file (using Virtualdub) since TMPGenc can't handle it very well. This worked fine for a number of movies.

Now I've a movie where the audio in the avi file has a 48000hz sample rate and uses 5 channels (stereo). Apparently when I want to convert to a wav I get the error that sample rate and channel numbers are not identical to source file.

I suspect the problem is caused by the 5 channels (since other 48000hz sample rate gave never an error). Can anyone tell me how to convert to wav anyway or should I follow another method.

    Thanks

See if you can load the video into Gold Wave. If you can, save the audio as a wave file.
    Hello.

  4. This is 5 channel AC3 audio. In vdub, use audio->direct stream copy, file-save wav. rename your wav file to filename.ac3. Convert to stereo wav file using HeadAch3e (might be in the tools section or go to doom9.org to get it).

    Hope this helps.
