When I convert with basic TMPG settings, NERO (5.5) says my file is "non-compliant" and needs to be MPEG-1. I turn off the compliace and burn it anyway (figuring that's what everyone else does.) It doesn't play. Any advice.

Your mpg file is out of the normal settings of resolution, bitrate e etc for SVCD.

if nero says you're making a non compliant that needs to be mpeg1 it's because you told it to burn a vcd not an svcd
