  1. Hi, sorry if the question sounds dumb, but I just downloaded a sample XviD file (sample .avi file for movie "About A Boy" coded in XviD format) that came with the codec, so I installed it, and tried to play the file, but it just won't play. What happens is that the initial first picture (frame) just freezes there, but I do hear the sounds ok. I can watch all other popular formats without any problems whatsoever, so I just don't understand why I can't watch XviD. Any ideas?

  3. Hi, yes I installed the codec of course, because the file DOES play, it just freezes right when it starts playing in my Windows Media Player, and yet I can hear the sound fine, because the file itself doesn't freeze, only the picture.

I just installed the nimo pack, and same problem. Anyone else had similar problems and was able to fix it? If my pc is too messed up and I have to format it just to get the XviD working, that would suck bigtime

try a program called registry first aid, this sorts out all the crap you have on the pc you don't need and cleans it up for you.

  5. Can en1 help me out? I'm trying to play a Xvid movie and having probs. A little background: I already had the DivX4 Codec installed (even though that shouldn't effect anything I think), and then I downloaded and installed Koepi's Binary codec (latest build).

Now, the movie will play in Media Player, but I get ZERO sound. Any ideas or suggestions? Is this a good build, is there something better out there? This is my first go at Xvid. Thanks for any help.

i believe Xvid is an extension of Divx, download Divx 5.02. It will install the new codec but it's player will not play xvid. I use PowerDVD to play xvid.
