Ok, Here is my problem. I transfer video to my computer using a device that automally encodes the MPG to Video CD Specs. I realize that is isn't the best way to input video, but however it works out good for what I use it for. I record shows from my Tivo unit that I want to save. The only problem is, I get the commercials. I have used TMPG to "cut out" the commercials before, but the problem is, I believe that TMPG has to recode the MPG file. So, I am left with a file that has been encoded in MPEG twice, making a less then great end file.
My question is, is there a program (freeware hopefully) that will allow me to simply "cut" the commercials out, and not recode the whole MPG. Even if I could just cut segments out, then in NERO I could just burn the different segment as chapters. I just really don't want to have to encode the MPEG file multiple times...
Thank you for any help,

You could use TMPGEnc Merge&Cut and save out all the parts you want, then join them all back, it does like good source, any dropped frames will cause a problem
