I burned ISO with Nero in multisession in 2 tracks. But when I opened the disc in the computer only the 2nd track(session) is displayed. But the properties show that the disc contains all sessions.Does this mean I have to close the disc to be able to access all files? Thanks,TV.
Is it possible to do multisession VCD burning with Nero V5.572?What do track at once and disk at once mean?

So you made 1 session, then could read it, then made another and could not read the second ?
If your making a VCD, then the disk has to be closed, thee are 2 track disks.

If thats a ISO of a VCD, then the disk must be closed. data is written to track 1, and the mpeg written to track 2

Thanks for the input.I was burning ISO, just data.Since I posted the question I found the answer by experimentation. When multisession burning is done I had to highlight the 1st track to write the 2nd track, which I didn't.So the 2nd track was written as a new disc(I think)and could display only that track. The 1st track is there which I know from the properties and file size, but it is functionally closed and cannot access.I wrote 3rd and 4th tracks highlighting the preceding track when asked and all files are readable without finalizing the disc. Please give any different thoughts you have. Thanks again.

I am a bit lost in working out what you are doing, if your making a VCD you don't use any data burn software at all, you select VCD from the list, the rest is then automatic. Why do you want a multi session disk ?

If you "Could" do a multi session VCD what would your DVD player make of it ?

Hi KJ,I am just making ISO files for storing photos. Not VCD.The files won't play in a DVD and aren't expected to.The files can be opened in the same CD-ROM drive that was used to write it.Thanks,TV.

  6. It is NOT possible to do a multisession S/VCD.

DAO = disc at once burning, which means that the burner burns the disc from beginning to end without turning off the laser (which implicitly means that the table of contents is written first).

TAO = track at once burning, which means that the burner burns the disc track by track, and turns off the laser between tracks. It also burns the table of contents last.

You should use DAO for VCDs, because there is no benefit in using TAO burning with VCDs. TAO burning allows audio CDs to have each audio track burnt in turn and only have the disc "finalised" when you are ready. This is irrelevant for VCDs as the logical part of the disc (which contains the PBC -- which tells the player the number of video tracks, etc., a VCD has) is required to be in track 1 so must be burnt first anyway... (that is, you can't "add" more video tracks to a S/VCD).

    Regards.

Ok, well in Most of the burning software you simply start a new multi session disk, but make sure you "import previous session" if you don’t import the previous session, then you will only be able to see the last session it has made.

Those are simple multi session data disks, Easy CD creator comes with a "Session selector" which could be use to set your drive to view any of the sessions, just incase you want to go back one

In Nero "CD ROM ISO" > Continue multi session

Nero in multisession in 2 tracks
    2 session !!

Thanks Michael for the explanation of why one cannot do multisession in VCD.I was looking for the info.
I have a question for KJ.Is there a session selector in Nero.Would I be able to see the files in track 1 which appears to be inaccessible because I didn't lead from track 1 when I was writing track 2?Thanks,TV.

No there is not a separate program as such, but when you start a new multi session, it should throw up a list, and ask you which session to import ?.

I think the Easy CD Session selector will work without the rest of the program, try Kazaa
