  1. I've read some of the newbie faqs, but I'm still confused.

I want to capture cartoons and put them on CD's for my little girl to watch on her DVD player and 13" TV.

I have ATI AIW 7500 in Dell 2 gighz machine, and a Samsung DVD S221 player. The player says it supports CD, CD-RW, etc.

I tried a simple capture and copied it to a CD. The player didn't recognize it.

When I capture with the ATI, I am capturing in VCD format in the ATI software (352x240).

Can someone get me on track here?

The DVD player might not be able to read vcd. How old is it? Do you know the make & model? If so, check to the right column, under "other".. the DVD category will let you conduct a search. I've heard if they can read mp3s, then they should be able to read other mpegs but I read that in a newsgroup like this one.... so you never know! Best of luck =)

  3. Did you just copy the file to the cd or did you author it with a program like Nero? VCD's require a specific file structure and must be authored by a program that creates vcd's.

If you knew this already, forgive my blather...
