  1. Everything on the screen is thinner, was i suppose change a resolution setting or something.

    I used...

    SmartRipper
    DVD2AVI
    TMGen
    VCD EASY

    can anyone help?

    no, your doing everything correctly. svcds have a resolution of 480x480 (576 pal). This means that the pixels are rectangle, instead of square as you are used to seeing. When you play back this svcd on your pc, it will be pushed in on the sides, making it look skinny. When you play it on a dvd player, the player will expand it so that it is full screen. You can also use a software player like powerdvd to play them on your pc. Powerdvd will also resize it for you....making it full screen
