  1. I want to put menus on my VCD using Nero. I figured out how to get the layout done with my own art, etc, but I cant figure out how to get each individual chapter in there. I have a video of a band that I turned into AVI then converted to mpeg. I want to be able to have a menu where you can go to a certain song or part of the concert. I want to have 11 tracks on the menu- numbered 1 through 11.
I have used ULEAD's DVD Movie Factory but I didnt like the way the track numbers on the menu stayed 1-6 on each page so I want to try Nero. Can anyone help me fiugre out how to get to a certain part of the video and have that become a chapter in the menu? Thanks.
    Chris

PS- I did read the tutorial on doing this on this website (thats how I got as far as I did), but it was unclear on the specific question I asked. Thats why I posted here.

Simpliest Nero way....Every song (or chapter) should be seperate mpg clip....Choose VCD when opening nero and enable menu...chose number of thumbs you want ...largest thumb have 6 to a screen(page) as number exceeds that nero makes new menu page...then set other prefs ya use (like name of VCD, burn speed ..ect) then hit new...
Then just drag over all the clips you want in the order ya want em....when they are on the left side you can right click on each and select properties....then you can change text to be displayed and pic image from clip for thumb (also if you want player to go straight from one chapter to next set pause to 0....if you want it to stop..set to infinite)....In the main menu on Nero when you right click on the title of the VCD..then properties ...then go to menu page you can hit preview...to see what menu will look like...Then Burn....

On my DVD player...you insert VCD and hit play...Menu comes up... you hit fwd skip to get to next menu page.. rev skip to go back (yours may vary)...the clips are numbered sequentialy and you just hit a number to play what ever clip ya want.

  3. Thanks MaDmiZe,
I really appreciate it. So my mpeg has to be seperate clips? I have one long mpeg. What program out there will split it so that when I burn the seperate clips, it will look right? I have a few editing programs like that TMPGEnc and VDub, will these work or is there something better? I also have Vegas Video 3.
    Thanks for the info,
    Chris

They need to be seperate for Nero...TMPG will split them, go to File>mpeg tools>cut and merge.
VCDeasy will make chapters to, and its free also...may be better if you already have one long video. Link to Sefys guide for VCDeasy:
