  1. I've been getting this error alot.

trying to author a VCD that I KNOW fits on a disc because I've burned these files before.

but I get this error about 80% of the time!

I have more than enough memory, drive space, etc.

    what's up with this??

    I'm ruining too many discs

  3. Buffer underrun is the most common CD burning error, not related to VCD. ELIMINATE all other system tasks and do not TOUCH your machine while burning. Turn off screen saver, antivirus, all but systray and explorer.

For about $65.00 you can buy a drive with buffer-underrun protection.

  4. figures that I've just discovered that my CD writer is a rebadged model~!

    Creative 8438E

"avoid at all cost!" one website tells me.

    thanks for the information.
also funny how you can't email Creative for technical support since the have NO DRIVER for this product. and when you click the link to take you to technical support it just puts you into an infinite loop and takes you back to the same screen.

    way to go Creative!

  5. Have you installed all the updates for that program. I just installed it myself and it had many patches for it and several related to Buffer under run problems.
