Old newbie here trying to figure out the best way to split a .mpg file (movie) at a designated or logical point in the file to allow burning on two disks from two separate files of one movie. In the past I've encoded two or more movie files using the "source range" application in TMPEGenc. This option is time consuming and requires some calculation to ensure I don't exceed disk capacity. I have found that if I encode the entire movie, I can go back and split the file using the "Merge & Cut" option under the "File", "MPEG Tools" tab. The problem is while I believe I'm at the precise location for splitting and according to the frame counter, the finished split does not occur where I expected and does not result in a logical break in the file. Is there a simple fix for this, or should I avoid this shortcut? Thanks for any help from anyone.
