  1. Let me start out with a question:
Is there a program that can help me find out what codec i need for this particular file? There should be!

I downloaded this video file from IRC: '081.Dragonball.Z.Sub.AHQ.DVD.Rip.avi'
They told me to download nimo codec pack, so i did. I have installed a lot of other codecs too but the video still isnt showing. I have all the commonly used codecs installed on the computer.

Any suggestions? I can send the file (200MB) to someone that think they can help.
    Thanks.

    hi goggy,

the way i find out what codec a file is to be decoded with,

open virtual dub and click on tools, then hex editor

then click file, open and select ur avi,

on the right hand side of the window is you audio and video info

***i think if you have audio but no video, you will need to apply the smr patch***

you can get it from the tools/codecs section of this site
