Help all codec packs don't work with my surveillance cam

hi folks,
this is my first post here and it seems to me here would be a lot of skilled persons around.
i am a property manager and because of all the crime in one of my houses i had to install a surveillance camera.
unfortunately the avi's the cam produced don't work with vlc or any other player.
i tried many things and i know the avis are mjpg. i installed a few codecs with mjpg also virtualdub but none of them can read it.

i uploaded on of the videos. maybe you know more and can help me. the file is 100% virii free.

Didn't your camera come with some software to display the AVI's?

unfortunately not only a prog called marspcam that can only open jpgs.

I can play it in Avidemux.
It shows 14 black frames and then the rest grey.
Don't know if that's what is supposed to be there.

The file that you uploaded is only 5kB (10 frames). VLC plays the ten frames (all black). GSpot says that the codec is MJPG (Motion JPEG) and that the codecs are loaded.

Other than nothing being on the video, everything looks okay to me.
