Dear all,
I used to d/l DivX then converrt into SVCD 2520kbps VBR MPEG2 by TMPGenc+ 2.55, and then use NERO 5590 to do authoring into SVCD and burn with my ATAPI plexwriter mounted in an external USB interface box, at 4X onto CD-RWs. The SVCD is then play via the Skyworth 1050p standalone DVD player.
Occasionally, I've experienced audio sync problems which is really uniform, it goes unsync for a while, if i PAUSE the play and resume it again, it will back in sync again, very weird. And then I play the disc using POWERDVD in my PC, and there is no audio sync problem at all. Should I say its the DVD player's problem? are they any tricks I can do in the burning process to resolve the problem?
The other weird thing is, the total time display in the standalone is usually shorter than the orginal length of the MPEG file output from TMPGenc. e.g. a 48:42 (mms) file will show up in the DVD player as 40:00, or a 20:00 MPEG file will show up 19:38 in the DVD player. This annoy me very much, but in the content, I simply could not tell which part of the video is missing, as both the beginning and endding seems fine. And when I drop the disc into the CD drive and play using powerDVD, I will again sometimes given different total time. e.g. 19:50 or 19:00, and never got a consistant length. But again, I can't catch anything missing during playback. That doesn;t annoy me as with the audio sync problem though.

I have tried using different authoring softwares, like VCDeasy. and the outcome is the same, a 48 min MPEG produced a 40 min (reported by powerDVD and my skyworth) SVCD, and if I place a track mark in 44 min, its simply not accessable ......

Pls. help.

Regards,
