  1. Hey all, I edit online class screen-caps, and it's ofter over 200 videos in total for 1 class level. For the most recent level I've been told I get paid a certain rate per-hour of material. So I wanted to see if there was a program or script or any other way, to calculate to total time of all the videos so I can see exactly how many hours it is total.

    One thing that I'm sure would be possible would be to bring them all into itunes, as itunes always shows the total time of a library or playlist. but I this would take alot of time and HDD space.

    So any other idea's would be greatly appreciated!

    Are the clips all the same format and bit rate? e.g. DV format?
    If so, elapsed time would be proportional to file size. In the case of DV format 12.5 GB/hr.

    Yes they are all the same, I am exporting from Screenflow:

    H.264, 1280 x 720, Millions
    AAC, Stereo, 44.100 kHz
    bitrate: 1500kbps

    would this be the only way to calculate this?

    1500kbps= 1500 / 8bits = 187.5kbyte/s * 60 seconds = 11 MB/minute * 60 minutes = 660MB/hour.

    If now 1500kbps is the total bitrate(video+audio). You might have some "overhead" data also.
