  1. I'm kind of new at this, but I have found programs that convert divx to vcd, but that won't play on my computer because I don't have a dvd player. When I push on the windows media player icon, that looks the same as when I download a mpeg, it says that fomat is not supported, and sometimes it says that I have a codec encoding problem. I'm assuming I need to convert the divx, based on what i've read, but is there a program for that, or must I convert the divx to vcd and just watch it later?

  2. Make sure that you havent accidentally encoded the file to MPEG-2 which is SVCD and to play those kinds of files you need either an MPEG-2 decoder card or a DVD-ROM drive or a video card with MPEG2 built in.
