  1. I have lots of photos that I took with my digital camera and I'd like to make some a slideshows like the ones I do with power point of microsoft where I can put some transitions efects and many other things, and write my presentation on a cd so that I could give a cd to my friends to be played on their computer without asking him to install any plugin to read the slideshow. (the person puts the cd on his computer and it starts playing the slideshow). But this is not all, I want to able the cd to be played on a dvd player like a VCD.
What happens is that when I do a video cd I can't insert any more file to the cd and so I can't insert in the cd the slideshow to be played on the computer and the files for vdc.
If what I want is possible tell me names of programs that allow me to do this by the easiest way ( for exemple, I compose my slideshow like I do with powerpoint and them I tell the program to make the cd like I want)

    Thanks for all

  2. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  4. They will find those apps (including download links and tutorials of varying quality) and several other apps at the link I gave "some moments ago".

  5. Putting in additional files on a VCD is trivial. Both Nero and VCDImager / VCDEasy can do it.

I'm not entirely sure of the benefit of using a VCD as a presentation tool though as your resolution is essentially limited to 704x480/576 and when you take into account of TV overscan, it is insufficient to clearly display text.

For photos only, it may be okay.

As for auto running on a PC, all you have to do is to appropriately create an autorun.ini file on the root directory of the CD/VCD. Get one of you commercial CDs out that autoruns and open up that file to see how they do it. It should be fairly simple to work it out.

Also, a PowerPoint presentation isn't a bad idea. You can put all your photos as a PowerPoint presentation and then include on your disc the free PowerPoint view off the Microsoft website.

WinOnCd doesn't allow transitions, but it is the only one I know of which will play equally well on a standalone DVD player, PC, and MAC.

In addition, it stores your pictures in their original format and resolution on the disk so your audience can pick out favorites and print, edit, etc. You can also add titles to individual slides which show up on the presentation, but don't alter the original pictures.

  7. I like that idea of using the free powerpoint viwer of microsoft but how can I convert powerpoint presentations to mpg files and then save on the same cd the files for the vcd (to be played on a dvd player) and the power point presentation with the autorun file.

    Thanks
