If your intention is ultimately to convert to (S)VCD, you may as well convert each part separately. If you just want a joined DivX to keep as DivX, your best bet is to to use audio>full-processing mode, and save out the uncompressed wav for each part. Then load the first DivX into vdub, choose video>direct stream copy, and audio>full processing mode. Browse to the wav file you extracted for the first part and choose compression, selecting mp3 at 96, 128 or 160, depending how concerned you are about the filesize. Then save the avi. This will recreate the avi with CBR audio. Do the same for the second DivX, choosing the same mp3 compression. Now you will be able to join them.

It sounds like one of your DivX may have ac3 audio, in which case you cannot save out the audio - you need a slightly more involved way to get the wav. Is it the same for both DivX?

  7. Yes, it is the same for both of them. How would i go about combining them or getting the WAV?

    Thanks!

If the audio is ac3, you'll need to use something like Graphedit or Headac3he. Check out http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=91588

So far as I know if the audio is ac3 you will need to convert it first. However, converting to DVD is outside my experience, so perhaps someone else has an idea? However, I would go ahead with the conversion just to make sure it actually is ac3! Was there no nfo with the movie?
