  1. Hi,
I'm having some probs converting MPEG-2 video I captured with PowerVCR II Pro into an AVI file. I can frameserve the video itself into VirtualDub using AVISynth with no problems but the audio is proving to be a nightmare!

It seems PowerVCR encodes the audio into MP2 format. Both video and audio play back fine in Windows Media Player but if I try and use FlaskMPEG to convert the video stream to AVI and the audio to PCM, the sound stutters (even when previewing the sound in the audio player bit). The same problem happens in Adobe Premiere also. The sound is in sync but just seems to stutter on and off.

I've tried demuxing the audio from the video and converting that way, no stuttering sound but this seems to lead to sync problems and the whole thing just ends up taking more time than I have! It'd be preferable for me to just be able to run the MPEG-2 vid through a program and convert both audio and video together in one session.

Does anyone know of any kind of fix for this? Or at least why the sound acts up in Flask and Premiere?

    Here's my system specs:

    Windows 98SE
    1.26 Ghz PIII
    256MB RAM
    1 x 20 GB Hard Drive
    1 x 2 GB Hard Drive
    DVD-ROM
    ATI Rage 128 Graphic Card
    Soundblaster 128 PCI
    WinTV USB Capture Device

This audio problem's the only thing - I'm getting very nice captures from PowerVCR - better than I do from any other program. I just need to be able to convert the caps to AVI. If anyone can help - it'd be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance
    - Gordon
