  1. Hi,

I'm having a problem with VirtualDub when I need to cut a movie in half. I'm ripping the dvd to avi via GordianKnot. This creates no problems, the avi plays fine, but when I open the file in VirtualDub it tells me there is a problem with the audio and it will introduce a few seconds or so of discrepency and if this isn't ok then I should reencode the audio. This manages to mess up the audio every time...

So, my question is, how do I encode the audio correctly the first time, and also, if I want to reencode it, how would I do so?

    Thanks in advance.

When your ripping the DVD to AVI, your probably got AC3 audio, if MP3 is available use that instead.

You would now need to save out the audio (WAV) so it can be converted from AC3 to WAV with headac3he
