Can you tell the difference between a Super vcd and a vcd? I riped a super vcd and a vcd, and could'nt really tell the difference.

  2. There is a big difference the picture of a SVCD is clearer and sharper compared to a VCD. But that is what I think. I am still yet to see a VCD that can even compare to a SVCD.

  3. Soon, this thread will have many replies, but most will state "you must not be doing that right" (or words to that effect).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  6. My source video? Mine is DVD or Divx, but I use CCE for my SVCD and TMPGEnc for my VCD. I think that CCE gives a better picture and TMPGEnc gives a washed out pic. And don't say use KVCD because I think that is a load of crap.

  7. My question was aimed at the original poster who said he couldnt tell the difference between VCD and SVCD, if his source is not good enough then that could be the reason he can not tell the difference. VCD may be the best quality he can expect from the source video, and hence encoding to SVCD will produce no better quality.
