I am new to converting video. I am trying to convert an MKV file to MP4 without re-encoding. Using MediaInfo I determined that the video stream is AVC and the audio is AAC. This is causing a huge problem because every tool I have used so far seems to be looking for an MKV with AC3 audio. So how do I get the video and audio into an mp4 container? None of the popular tools I have tried are working. I am using Windows 7 64bit so I am suspicious this too is causing compatibility problems.

GotSent is not working at all. I can only get it to spit out a 1kb file. XenonMKV works but on mp4 playback the video stream speed is too fast and out of synch with the audio. I tried MKVboxer but I get the error saying that the audio or video has the wrong codec.

    I am very frustrated.

Have you tried a mp4 multiplexer? like mp4muxer, mymp4boxgui, yamb, avidemux(choose copy under video and audio), xvid4psp(choose copy and video and audio).

You might have to demultiplex/split the video and audio tracks with mkvextractgui first.

Ok here is what I have tried.

Demuxed with mkvextractgui and got an acc file and h264 file. Then I tried muxing with mymp4boxgui. I ended up with a 6MB mp4 file that wouldn't play. Then I tried muxing with Yamb and got the same result only with an error telling me that mp4box had quit working right when I got to 99% completed.

Then I tried Yamb without a demux. I simply added the MKV file and tried to muxing. Same thing, got to 99% and told me that mp4box had quit working. This left me with a 5.7MB mp4. ANd yes mp4box.exe is in the Yamb directory.

According to YAMB I am dealing with an AVC video and AAC LC- -6ch 48.0 khz audio stream
