  1. What's up everyone? I'm a super newbie to VCD making and I need some help (of course). I'll just list the steps I took to burn my VCD below:

    1. Used TMPGEnc to encode an AVI file into MPEG.

    2. Attempted to burn my first VCD with Nero 5.5 but was unsuccessful due to a "Track Following Error" - not sure what that means. I tried to burn again on another CD Writer and this time I got this message - "Calibration area full". I wish they'd talk English as I do not know what the heck these terms mean.

    3. After Nero didn't work, I used VCDEasy to create an image or BIN file of the MPEG movie file. So far so good.

    4. Finally, I used CDRWin 4.0 to burn the image and it worked.

    5. Now here's the messed up part. Well, I'm heading to my living room feeling all good and stuff since I "think" I've created my first working VCD. I pop the VCD in my VCD Player and "voila"........no video....however, I can hear the audio. So what's the deal here? I thought I did everything correctly. Followed the "newbie" steps on this site. I know I've got a lot to learn though. Can anybody please help me out with this issue? Thanks to all!

    Search Comp PM
    TMPGEnc
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    Load > Load VCD template
    START

  3. Updating Nero to 5.5.9.0 probably wouldn't do any harm.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  4. in the TMPEGenc did you choose the rigth format ?? PAL / NTSC ??? template
try w/a small file the VCD template (pal or ntsc) and without changes encode
then chosing VCD 2.0 in VCDEASY create the image and burn w/CDRDAO (incl.in VCDEASY)
    see if it works
