To be really specific, here is my question:
I watch a show on abc.com (I think it uses the Adobe Flash player)
I like to capture the show I am watching on my PC hard drive in some format that can be converted and burned to DVD.
Is there a way to do this using just my PC alone and not having to have an external device (VCR or DVDR, etc...) ?

This site might be able to help you. I am not sure if or how it works with streaming videos.

Firefox and a download helper addon,

It took me awhile to figure out how keepvid works.
It works for me now. I could save some video clips for playbacks without having to go to Internet.
