Use Smartripper 2.41 to rip in steam mode, this allows you to strip out all the foreign language tracks. What do you mean by stuttering are you frame serving in DVD2AVI?

  4. I originally used SmartRipper to get the VOB files, but how does stream work? It gives that stutter effect since it picks up 3 of the same frames but in different languages.

When you open smartripper choose stream processing instead of input. check the stream processing box, files will appear. uncheck the files you don't want, highlight the video stream and and rip.
The stuttering is caused by how your encoding not ripping.

    uhh no

the stuttering comes from the vob files

smart ripper is ripping all the angles of the film
hence giving him the other languages at the same time

he can be getting spanish english and maybe even french altogether

I encode vob's in Tmpeg all the time without frameserving and never get stuttering. the only time I see stuttering is when I frameserver thru DVD2AVI. In my humble opion it's frameserving that causes problem in Tmpeg, not Tmpeg.

it's not the frameserving the issue on stuttering
if the stuttering problem comes from the multi language

    maybe I'm understanding wrong

You may be confusing what angle means. Angle in ripping just refers to the movie file you want to rip. Angle on a DVD refers to multangle viewing of the DVD on your DVD player. Very few disks actully use multi-angle.

  13. yep very few use it

    tho with multi-language

you'll get spanish english frames if the dvd isn't ripped properly

and they will play consecutively once it's ripped

I've had that happen with "Disneys The Jungle Book"

the beginning is where the title shows on a book cover and it went from English writing to Spanish right after

totally thru Me for a loop that first time

if geno325is is able to supply a sample of the ripped video we can see the exact problem
    and give advice accordingly
