  1. I know how to get the .vob files from the DVD and how to get the ac3 audio file and the d2v video file that TMPGenc reads. I run them through TMPGenc but it only encodes them to MPeg-1. Is there another program that can read these files that is a free program that can convert it to MPEG-2 or Blu-Ray Video format?

    VOB files ARE MPEG2.

Run them through Vob2Mpg to get one unified mpeg2 file from the vobs. No re-encoding, so no degradation of the quality of the video.
