Okay, this is a little hard to explain, but here goes...
I was trying to use MS's MPEG4 V3 the other day...I used both Flask and Vdub, and both had AVI files as the output. I used various audio codecs, but divx audio was the most compressed so I preferred that to any other formats I tried. However, when I tried to play the encodes, nothing but vdub would work whenever I had used divx audio. I remember Vdub gave an error message saying that MS didn't want MPEG4 V3 used in AVI files, but when I used WMA audio for example it played fine. So my questions are...
1) Is there a player that would be able to play these files the way there are?
2) Is there another audio codec that one could use with MPEG4 V3 in place of divx that would give good compression (since I haven't found one yet...)?
Thanks ahead of time. =P
