    Hello,

I am needing help with converting .VOB files with MPEG StreamClip to MPEG4. I went on Apple's site to check out the MPEG2 Playback Component and found that there were quite a few angry people on their forum writing in about the fact that the Playback Component did not work for them. They ended up with the video portion of whatever they were converting, but not the audio portion. Now, this will be useless to me, as well, if I don't have the audio portion of the video.

I have a DVD of singing performances created for me at a lab from video tape, and in .VOB format. I'm trying to convert them to MPEG4 so that I can upload them to my own music website as well as You Tube. I don't want to waste my money if the Playback Component only works for 50% of those who buy it. Is there anything else I can do?

    I have a MAC PowerBook G4 OSX 10.4.11.

    Thank you!

    Thanks Baldrick!

However, I have an older PowerBook G4 (2005) and Handbrake no longer officially supports my Mac. They suggested using the older version of Handbrake 0.9.4. There were several versions of that.... in a list of older versions. I was only able to download one of these to my Mac: Handbrake 0.9.4 - Mac OSX .5 GUIx86 64 and then when you click on the Handbrake icon...nothing happens. I tried dragging my video into it and nothing happens either. So, I don't know what else to do. Do you have any other suggestions? I would love to have used Handbrake. Can I open it in something else perhaps? I really have no idea.

    Thanks.
