Can anyone tell me how to resize an avi in virtual dub with resize filter and render it to a movie without actually frameserving it to an encoder so that i can just open the avi in encoder and try it without actual frameserving as cinemacraft is a very picky thing.,...
Thnx

VirtualDubNess...
If your final file will be AVI, then resize with VirtualDub. If your final file will be MPEG, you should use the resize function of your MPEG editing software. Truly, unless there is a very specific VirtualDub filter (Subtitles, Noise, etc.) that you must use because it does not exist elsewhere, it is best to use the editing features of the MPEG program rather than duplicating the step. Of course, I use TMPGEnc, not CinemaCraft.
Video | Filters... | Add... | Resize... or something to that effect should get you started in VirtualDub. The Resize filter is pretty straightforward. You can preview the result to crop and even letterbox the video if you like. However, there are counterparts for each of these functions in TMPGEnc, which can read AVI files directly without frameserving.
