Can anybody tell me why my cd rewritable burner will always accept cd-rs, and when it comes to cd-rws sometimes it will accept them and sometimes it won't.

Have you been playing about and formatting them for use with something like Direct CD which is a drag and drop utility to be used with Adaptec software and then trying to open it with another APP like Nero.????
Please substitute program for program and take this as an example only........
If you use the FORMAT CD facility within a piece of software then ususally only the program that you formatted it with will read it.
My experience anyway............. -
Oh.......And also............
If you burn with one program then another may have trouble reading the unfinished disk as well........
Make sure you use the same program while making multisession discs. -
It may have been partially written to with another program.
In the options of your cd writing software somewhere you will have the option to erase the disc.
Try that.
