  3. Also make sure that if you are running a windows machine that you download the MediaPlayer 7.1 from microsoft. It will give you even more support then just the codec alone will.

    Actually I need this codec for a problem I'm having (here). Is there a way to get it without Media Player 7? I hate that program and don't want to install it. I would be glad if you could tell me a way.

  6. I didn't say that media player seven was the best program to use, but it will provide the support that you will need for some of the DivX files on the net. Once you install media player seven, you "should" (microsoft speak) be able to use TMPGEnc and other programs to play, convert, edit.... the files. I personally use ATI File player for most of the movies I watch, but it would not play some DivX files untill I went to MP7.1.
