  1. I have recently dl 2 movies that work great on my computer, but make the screen roll and are in black and white on my tv. I have dl many movies and all have worked well. I am in America and have burnt NTSC.

I tried using virtualdub to see my source but get an error message saying that it can't determine file type.

I tried using TMPGenc to look at the .mpg file but it says that the file type is not supported.

I tried loading into myflix, but it tells me that mpeg-2 isn't supported.

I guess I am just confused as to why these two movies are the only ones out of the many I have dl that do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The decompressor needed to view the movie is missing, nip out and buy it whoshhhhhhh... got it already ?

The decompressors is commonly know as a codec, you can download the popular like DivX MPEG-4 V2,3,4 or DivX 3.11 Alpha, but save some time and install them all with the Nimo codec pack

  3. I already have the codecs on my computer. The problem lies in watching it on my home theater after I burn to vcd or svcd. They work GREAT on the computer but not on the home theater.....

Woops, did you make a PAL by mistake then ?

I tried using virtualdub to see my source but get an error message saying that it can't determine file type.

I tried using TMPGenc to look at the .mpg file but it says that the file type is not supported.
This tells me you dont have ALL the codecs, or its a fake...

  5. No, I didn't burn PAL. I tried it again and still got the same results. It happened on all of the discs for the movie.

I wonder, does it matter if the source file was PAL? I really don't know what to do except re-dl the entire thing.

It has happened again on my copy of Unfaithful disc-2. All of these came from the SVCD.Centropy. file types.

    This has me really baffled.

Unfaithful, Listed below are the correct file sizes for verified files of that movie. Conversion from PAL to NTSC would not cause any problems, I do it all the time, and the other way around.

Have you scanned it with Vdub for junk frames, before conversion. Is the .mpeg fine before burn and 100% compliant (VCD template)
