  1. Hi all

    I have a file on .avi format and I would like to convert it VCD og SCVD.
    What software (freeware) do I need to convert the .avi files ?

  4. tmpg is a waste of time nero will encode and burn but i dont know if it converts to svcd unless its in mpeg2 format i have never had a prob burning avi to vcd with nero but when i tried to burn to a svcd error came up. bettter off getting the movies from srvers on AOL at least you see what you are getting

  5. yes it can - and with a plugin NERO will even do SVCD (you may download from Nero Hompage), but encoding quality is far away from TMPGenc quality. If there is no need for, I wold never decode with NERO.

    What makes you say this, I think it is the best piece of freeware I have ever downloaded, and I think many people on this forum would agree. It far outperforms nero for encoding to VCD compliant mpeg.

  7. Two of the best programs, in terms of results and usefulness, you will ever download for video work are VirtualDub and TMPGEnc.

    The third best program, IMHO, is ScenalyzerLive. It is however not free but the registration fee isn't all that much.
