  1. Hey everyone
I'm still pretty new to this, so i got a ton of questions, and here's my latest: How can i get the best quality rip?
What processes should i use to get the best picture and overall quality, which formats should i encode to? and which programs produce the best results? ( i hear that some mpeg encoding softwares are better than others)
If you know how to get the best results, please let me know! Thanks!

  2. Well first of all I want to say is that I'm also an newb at this. But I already tested several times. First thing you have to do is pick a format. Do you
1)want to play it only on your PC or
2)do you want to watch it on your standalone DVD player.

If you chose for 1 I think divx is the best format and if you want 2 I would recommend the DVD to CVD guide from baker, it gave me very good results.
