Uncompressed 24bit RGB RiPps…

Wondering how many people are doing there rips using 24bit uncompressed avi as the source? I recently purchased 2 WD 100-gig drives and a Promise RAID card to capture/ripp/encode. I haven’t ripped a movie since using VOBS as my source!!!

My methods are as such


SmartRipper

DVD2AVI-Save D2v file

VFAPIConv-1.04 -Create fake .avi

VirtualDub-Resize Precise Bicubic 480x480 (black boarders multiples of 16), save as uncompressed 24bit RGB avi

CinemaCraft SP 2.64-3 Pass VBR Mpeg2 no audio

3:2 Pulldown-Convert too 29.97fps

TMPEG/Too Lame- Audio encoded @224bps

BBmpg12418- Multiplex Video/Audio while splitting file @ 793 Megs

Nero/Plextor- Burn as fully compliant SVCD


With this method I am getting incredible results…near DVD results. I only wonder if there is anything I can do to improve image quality.
