  1. OK... I've downloaded the original Star Wars trilogy as very high quality AVI files. Just so everyone knows, I own all the movies on VHS! So, I'm covered. I want to make my own DVDs to tide me over until Lucas gets off his ass and releases them in 2005. I have a small issue with the movies I downloaded though. The sound channels are flipped. How can I fix this before converting them to DVD? Speaking of DVD, should I use ffmpegX for the conversion? I can run the AVIs through DivX Doctor to make them QT Movies if needed.

  2. I'm guessing that this isn't common from the lack of response.

    ???

Anyone know how to reverse the audio track??? I've looked in every app. Not even QT has a "reverse audio" function.

    Hello

You're going to need a pro audio tool for that. Check out Peak by Bias...maybe you can get a "trial" version offa the internet...

If there isn't a feature that allows you to flip the audio, I'm sure you can select the entire left channel of a stereo track and paste it into a new, blank stereo document....obviously into the right channel. Then do the same with the right channel. Just make sure you insert them both at the very beginning of the track or you'll run into sync issues.

Did i mention you'll have to get the file de-muxed so you can work with the audio independently from the movie. Once you've doctored the audio up, re-mux!

    Hope this helps...

  4. Can AVIs and QuickTime movies be demuxed? I thought that was for only mpeg.

You could always just convert them to .mpeg and then demux them!
I cant thik off the top of my head a way to demux .avi or .mov other than exporting to .mpeg and then demuxing. mpeg2 export will pull the video out as a .m2v and then you can always pull out the audio using ffmpegx.

come to think of it, you can just turn off a encoding (video or audio) on ffmpegx and demux it that way

I would help if you knew what kind of audio it is.
    MP2, PCM, AC3
It's easy to flip channels if you have it in WAV format.

  7. Example: I have "Star Wars - Ep.4 - A NEW Hope" as an AVI and also saved as a MOV from DiVX Doctor. It's in widescreen format. When I get info in QuickTime, it says the video codec is 3iVX and 25fps. For the Audio it says MPEG Layer 3 44Khz 16bit. (I think) I'm at work right now, but I'm pretty sure that was the info. For and audio application, I do have Spark. I also have Amadeus II here at work, which is a pretty basic program. Kind of reminds me of the old SoundEdit 16.

  8. This is the craziest thing! I flipped the audio channels with Spark quite easily. I muxed the audio and video back into a DVD compliant MPEG2 file. The audio channels are where they are supposed to be and the synching is fine. I burned the file to a DVD with Toast 6 and the audio channels are flipped again. It's happened TWICE on two different files. THIS IS PISSING ME OFF!!!!
