I ripped a PAL DVD with DVDDecrypter. I then used DVD2AVI to get the .AC3 (which is reported to have 0ms Delay). I then used BeSweet to get the 6 wav files. I load the files in Cooledit and they are 110:48.032 long (or 6648.032 seconds). I then use IfoEditor to write out the TmpgencTemplate and also used ReMPEG2 to analyze the VOBs and both report there are 166074 frames (for PAL that would be 6642.96 sconds). (ReMPEG2 reports 6643.0 seconds which I guess is just rounding up). Anyway, that is a difference of 5.072 seconds. If I convert the video from PAL to NTSC it will be 4.27% longer (25/23.976) so:
For Video:
(6642.96*1.0427) = 6926.67 seconds
For Audio:
(6648.032*1.0427) = 6931.903 seconds
Why is there a difference in the time for my original PAL audio and video files and how will I ever get them syncronized? Is it possible that the audio file just ends before the video does (like maybe 5 seconds of black screen with no audio at the end) and this is causing the 5 second difference)? Thanks.
