  1. When I tried to play a vcd that I downloaded (the file is in .dat format) I got an error (in the latest wmp, 7.something) "no combination of filters could be found to render the stream" so I searched this forum, and it turned out I needed to download the MPEG2 codec thing in order to play the file, so I did.. and I don't receive the error anymore.

But the movie still does not play properly, when I open it now I receive this: http://www.dizzyweb.net/temp.jpg

I have the same results when I attempt to play the movie in WinDVD or PowerDVD

    Please advice..

Try to change the extension of the file from a ".dat" file into an ".mpg" file.

    Hi,

There seems to be a lot of stuff on the web, gnutella, newsgroups, etc that contain embedded commands to open your web browser. Is this what is happening? If so, I haven't found a way of stripping this section from the video either.

    Anybody got any ideas?
