Nero Help. Cannot burn VCD's ???

What's up guys. I've made quite abit of VCD's and the other day I tried backing up some PS2 games with Nero. I had to go into Nero and set it up the way it needed to be done. I'm having a problem now, whenever I try to burn a VCD Nero is telling me " the medium is not empty. Please insert an empty medium. Medium required for the compilation CD-R/RW. Then it says Medium type in recorder: ( empty ) ?????
The sucky thing is I choose Medium info right before I select WRITE and it says " empty " ??? I'm lost. I can burn a regular ISO1. The ISO1 will accept the CD it failed to accept the VCD procedure with. Is there something in prefernces I need to adjust. I'm running Nero 5.5.8.0 bundled on Windows XP PRO. I follow Sefy's guide to the T but it keeps failing. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Josh

Well I figured out my problem. I had the Create cacheing and some other cache thing selected. After I unselected them Nero burned fine. Thanks for all the wonderful help :roll:

Is there anything you think i should change in the guide, regarding Nero to make it easier to understand, so others will not run into the same problem ?

I'm not sure Sefy. I've been following it and what you have does the job for me. To me if it ain't broke why fix it. My Nero program is acting up really bad. Sometimes it wants to burn other times it doesn't. Now I'm having this issue were it only allows me to burn at 12 speed. ( I have a 40 speed max ). It does not even have 24x , 32x, or 40x as an option?????. I'm gonna download the 5.5.8.2 tonight maybe that will solve my problem.

I remember the first time I used it Sefy I had this sense of relief cause I thought this would be harder to do than what I thought. The pictures are a HUGE plus. Step by step it got the job done. If people run into problems I think it is a user error or a program error. The steps you have work, bottom line.

Sefy I would liek to know how to merge chapoters with nero...and it would be nice to know why I check joliet???(according to your guide) Other than that your guide is helping me a lot!

Thank you guys for all the comments on the guide, I want to try and make it the best for newbie's, cause most other guys aim at the more advanced user, which isn't very fair to the beginner.

As for your problem with Nero, What type of Media are you putting in the drive ? Nero usually detects the maximum speed of the media and sets the burning accordingly.

As for Joining Chapters, i'm not sure what you mean, If you have seperate MPG files being used, then you first must combine them using TMPGEnc or any other program that can do so, and then use Nero on the big file, of course, then you won't have any chapters at all.

I'd recommand you get TSCV or VCDEasy to put true chapters in your movie

Hey dude I still get that same error and have those chache options unchecked from the 1st time. I don't know what's up, I think its the version of nero but can't find an old one to try that, don't wanna really mess up the firmware since i already was butning before.
Also the other problem is the empty CD after a .AVI is burned onto it

tavuslokus, you said you still get cache errors, but i'm not sure I know what you mean, as I only see one post on this topic, can you explain what it is you are doing and what is the error you are getting ?

In Nero 5.5.8.2 in the wizard (or whatever the tabbed interface is) there is a "Misc" tab. If the "Cache files from disk and Network" box is checked it makes a trash VCD. I thought Nero or my disks were bad until reading a post here.

There is another option I am unsure of - somethink like "add ;1 filenames" - maybe an ISO or VCD standard.
