I am currently producing a motorcycle stunt DVD, all serious fast-action footage, using Premiere 6 and a Pinnacle DV500. About 75% of the footage is captured from DV, and the rest from VHS tapes. As I understand it, field order for DV is 'lower first' whereas analogue is 'upper first'. Hence, when rendering it all out as 'lower first' and burning to DVD for testing, the footage coming from analogue source has it's fields the wrong way round and is jerky on the TV.

Interlacing is something I'm fairly new to, so would appreciate any tips on how to deal with projects where a combination of footage types is used, and how to get them to live together in peace and play back smoothly...

TIA

Alex
