Last night I tried putting an 85 minute movie on an 80 cdr. I set tmpgenc to 2pass vbr and lowered the bitrate until I got to 99%. Well, the mpg looked fine on the computer, but when I burned it and put in my dvd player (sony DVP NS 300) I recieved an error that the disc was dirty (its brand new) I tried again and again. It would start playing, but wouldnt get past 00:00, but it was a black screen. I then tried to fast forward and it worked, through the whole movie. But it would play at any time. It just let me fast forward through the movie and all the picture was there. Any ideas what the deal is????

Just one word: SONY
Go test your movie on a good player, like Pioneer, and most chances it will play smoothly and without problems.Email me for faster replies!
